Make your little one’s first Thanksgiving delicious with these baby food recipes

Gobble gobble! Thanksgiving is almost here. Now that your little one has graduated from a milk-only diet, you get to think about what he’s going to eat on the festive day, too.

Unfortunately, he’s not quite ready to partake in the big meal, but that doesn’t mean you can’t prepare him his own version of a Thanksgiving feast. Here are some delicious, baby-friendly recipes for those little ones who are still eating pureed baby foods.




Let’s Get Started
Carrot, Pea and Potato Mash


1 1-inch portion of carrot, cooked
1 1-inch cube of potato, cooked
1 heaping tbsp cooked peas (frozen are fine)



  1. Add the carrot, potato and peas to the bowl or a blender or mini-food processor.
  2. Process until smooth.
  3. To thin the puree, add a little bit of water.
  4. If desired, you can also season with a tiny pinch of salt and pepper.

Main Event

One Pot Thanksgiving Dinner


1 cup of Turkey – uncooked (breast or leg meat)
1/2 cup peeled and cubed winter squash
1/2 cup peeled and cubed white potato
1/2 cup peeled and cubed sweet potato
1 small handful of fresh or frozen cranberries


  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium sized sauce pan
  2. Add 2 cups of water
  3. Bring to a gentle boil and then turn heat to low
  4. Simmer on low for 20 minutes or until turkey is no longer pink and veggies may be easily pierced with a fork.
  5. Transfer the cooked One Pot Thanksgiving Dinner to a large mixing bowl and mash or chop as needed.
  6. Process in a Blender or Food Processor if needed for babies who do not like lumps and textures.

Sweet Endings

Crust-Free Sweet Potato Pie


1 sweet potato
1/3 cup butter
2 tbsp. evaporated milk
1/2 cup sugar (more to taste)
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Peel sweet potato and boil until tender.
  3. Place in a bowl and add all other ingredients.
  4. Mix until consistency is smooth.
  5. Pour batter into small baking pan and bake for about 35 minutes.
